Paris for Free: The Carnavalet Museum, delightfully quaint!

The Carnavalet Museum in Paris is worth the visit for several reasons. Firstly it is located in the very heart of the Marais area in two beautiful mansions, the Hôtel Carnavalet, from the Renaissance period, and the Hôtel Le Peletier de Saint Fargeau, from 17th century. And despite this exceptional location it remains quiet and not too busy. Secondly the permanent collections of the museum can be visited for free (while the temporary exhibitions are paying). And thirdly it is delightfully quaint, as no other museum in Paris!

The Parisian Market of the Month: Le Marché Monge

I promised you to make you discover every month one of my favourite food markets in Paris… and a quarter has already passed by without any article about the Parisian food markets! I must apologize as the food markets are really part of the identity of Paris and places not to be missed while visiting the city if one wants to live like a local.

Villa Flora: A Must-See Exhibition in Paris Until 7 February

The prestigious collection of paintings of the Swiss couple Arthur and Hedy Hahnloser is currently shown in the Musée Marmottan in Paris in a beautiful exhibition: Villa Flora, les temps enchantés. One can admire there 75 masterpieces, all by great artists, Impressionists, Nabis, Fauves,… It is in my opinion one of the top three exhibitions not to be missed in Paris this winter. It started last September and is still running until 7 February. If you have not seen it yet, go and visit it straight away: it is really amazing!
