Beaugrenelle Paris: The Place for Chic and Casual Shopping

Beaugrenelle Paris is the newest Shopping Mall in Paris. It opened two years ago in 15th arrondissement of Paris in an area lying along the Seine River and called ‘Le Front de Seine’ which is located about 15 minutes walk southwards from the Eiffel Tower. Since its opening this new Shopping destination has got several awards including the one for ‘the Best European Shopping Centre 2015’.

I went there for the first time this week and I have really been charmed by the brightness and user-friendliness of the place as well as by the casual chic positioning of its stores. It is the first time that a Shopping Mall with such an architecture and design has opened in Paris and I think that it is really worth the visit.

I was there in the morning on a weekday and it was not crowded at all. It is open from 10am till 9pm from Monday to Saturday and from now on it will also be open on Sundays between 10am and 8pm: Why not taking advantage of these wide opening hours?

Beaugrenelle Paris: Location and surroundings

One can reach Beaugrenelle Paris either coming from the Metro station Charles Michel (line 10) or from the banks of the Seine. The Shopping Mall is centered around three different spaces. The first one, called City, is along the rue Linois and is the first that one discover when arriving from the Metro Charles Michel. It consists in a succession of shops which open directly onto the street. In my opinion it is of no particular interest but acting as a bridge between the Metro way out and the main entrance of Beaugrenelle Paris, which is located on the rue Linois and is the entrance of the second space, called Magnetic.

Even if you have arrived from the Metro I recommend you to keep walking to the end of the rue Linois and cross the Quai de Grenelle so as to reach the River banks. From there the views are amazing: in front of you, in the middle of the Seine at the end of the ‘Allée des Cygnes’, the Statue of Liberty; and on your right the towers of the ‘Front de Seine’ and behind them the majestic Eiffel Tower!

I entered the Shopping Centre through the Magnetic entrance which is located on the rue Linois and invite you to do the same so as to enjoy at his best the elegant design of the place, its brightness and the refined use of the bluey shades from the dome to the mobile made by the French artist Xavier Veilhan. A few pictures are worth a thousand words…

Beaugrenelle Paris: A relaxed shopping

Beaugrenelle Paris offers a mix of casual and chic shops, from the essential international fashion shops (Zara, Celio, H&M, Hollister,…) to the trendy Parisian fashion designers (Sandro, Maje, Claudie Pierlot,…) through more luxurious or confidential brands: Baccarat, Guerlain, Devialet, Lollipops Paris,…

On the basement a full floor is dedicated to home furniture. I have discovered there my favourite shop: ‘Du bruit dans la cuisine’, a small French retail chain coming from Brittany and selling everything you need to cook and eat from kitchenware to tableware through cookery books and fine food products. I love it!

And not to mention the FNAC, Maisons du Monde, and accross the street in the third space of the Shopping Centre, which is called Panoramic and can be reached by a glass footbridge, the biggest Marks & Spencer in France (4 floors – fashion spaces for men, women and children and one of the largest M&S Food hall in continental Europe). In this third space one can also find several restaurants and a big cinema on the groundfloor which was designed by Ora-ïto, a famous French designer.

I have also appreciated the various spaces where to sit and have a rest. Several of them are equipped with plugs or chargers for mobile phones which can be used for free. Whereas the toilets are certainly pleasant and sparkling clean… but really expensive: 1€!

From this weekend Beaugrenelle Paris will be open every Sunday between 10am and 8pm. This Sunday opening does not concern all the stores but most of them as 75% of the shops should indeed be open. Enjoy your shopping!
